Our (Not Quite There Yet) New Haven...

Finally we moved into our new home last wednesday. At last wednesday, the house is only 70% completed but we had no choice since hubby came home from China after a one week business trip, and we all were needing a proper place to rest. Dirt and dust are still unsettling even at this point, and I have lost count of the number of times that I've clean my guts out in our new home, but then again on the next day, the workers will be here to carry out their works and dirty the place all over again. I cannot describe my frustration and tiredness with this cycle over and over again, not to mention that I cannot completely unpack and clean up the guest room as the carpentry works have yet to be completed...sigh...
The last few days that we've stayed in our new home, everyone seemed to be settling down pretty nicely. Hao had 2 new tortoises, complementary from my sis, as his new responsibility in the new home. Everyday without fail (so far), he will wake up in the morning, prepare for school, and clean out his tortoises while I am dressing Ee for school. So far so good and if he's consistent, I might just graduate him to rear fishes next year :P Oh, I must also mention that since we moved into our new home, Hao has been going to the toilet at night on his own. Gone are the days when we need to wake him up at midnight to clear his bladder to avoid wetting his bed. Now he can visit the toilet on his own LOL
Ee has finally got to sleep in a proper single size bed and passing on his toddler bed to Min. He's still getting used to sleeping in the room with Hao at night without any lights, but I am quite sure he'll be able to adapt to it pretty soon. After all, he's already a big boy.
Min has been exploring the big "playground" since we got here as I suspected our old flat was getting too boring (since it's small in size and everywhere he goes, he'll bumped into a wall or a piece of furniture etc). Not too bad except that he's got itchy hands now and will grab anything within his reach and then discarding it off by throwing it onto the ground. Have already warned hubby that we need to start to rectify his behaviour as we see potential in him nurturing into a little brat who has to get his ways no matter what...what a scary thought!!
All in all, we hope to get the house really done up and all clean up and unpacked by this weekend, and officially declaring our new haven ready for all to visit. We are still undecided on a housewarming party as 1. We don't want people dirtying our home 2. I need to clean up after that 3. There's too many people we need to invite and we are afraid that if we invite one and forgets the other, people will get offended 4. Hubby travels too much on business that we can't find a good time to organise one 5. We just wanna enjoy our new haven in peace without criticism or well intended comments coming our way......
Lastly, once I find the digital camera (duno where we stuffed it), I'll update photos soon!

i got one more reason to add to why you shouldn't do house warming - we got more crap that we need to clear.. if we have house warming, people will give us more crap that we need to clear more ..

but jokes aside, i'm curious to see yr house =) and i'm actually more curious to see hao's tortoises.. it's surprising, as he's such a finicky baby, i thought he will find tortoise too dirty when he has to clean them.. hehe

Hi,
Am happy to hear that you have finally shifted! Congrats! Do post the pics soon ;)

Hao is such a responsible boy. My hubby got two terrapins for my boys too. And they only fed them for one week. Now the terrapins are my hubby's. haha
