Happy Valentines' Day

I think that all women in the world no matter what size, height or age deserves to be loved and pampered, especially on Valentines' Day. No, I am not a V-day advocate, nor do I support the commercialization of V-day in the form of expensive dining, flowers or presents. What I mean is all women needs love and it needn't to be their partners, but by their sons, friends and even girlfriends. The world is moving fast, and many of us are either too busy with our work or families that many a time, we lost track of love and take things for granted. We can love everyday but especially on V-day, it reminds us not to forget about showing our love to others.

Maybe I am saying this because I haven't been shown love or be pampered for a while. I remember the last time someone pampered me was sis and Nic, who lovingly bought me a spa getaway for my birthday. Boy, I was touched and thankful for sis and Kevin who helped babysit the 3 kids on a Saturday afternoon at Bishan Park, just so I can get a well deserved massage on that very special day. I don't remember when was the last time hubby bought me anything special or arrange a special meal together with me alone. Partly we have the 3 kids in tow, and also I think when we are so busy with our family ( and work for him), we tend to take for granted and forgot that we should show our love to each other more often. That said, I was taken by surprised by Hao this morning when I woke up. He told me he had a little surprise for me and showed me a packet of tissue with Winnie the Pooh printed on it. He said that was a present for me. Altho it was a simple packet of tissue, I was touched that he thought of me in school and bought that in school for me. That shows how much he loved me. Just yesterday, Ee was playing with his toys and suddenly turned to me and said "I love you mummy!". A sweet and short sentence that means so much to me. It is a little sad how my sons actually show me more simple and pure love than my block of wood hubby LOL
