Last night my sis came over and brought a small Thomas the Train cake for him and we sang the birthday song and got him to cut the cake early. Sis gave him a Arthur motorised train as a present and gave Ee a Bob the Builder bag just in case he got jealous lol

We (its me actually) had a day long celebration for him today. After we sent Ee to school, I brought him to MacDonald for a sumptous breakfast and headed to ToyrUs to get his birthday present. Sadly, the PC game that he had eyed for a long time was out of stock. He started to nagged at me for not getting it few days ago when we came to choose his present. I was quite insistent that he should get it on the actual day instead of earlier, and I assured him again and again that there'll be plenty of CDs available to buy. Just my luck that it got sold out just today! Anyway I persuaded him to head off to Kiddy Palace to find the CD and crossed my fingers that it's available there, and it'll be just as well as I have some vouchers to spend there, saving me the cash that was needed to get his present :P Unluckily for me, it was sold out too....end up we gave up searching for the CD and settled on a fishing rod set for his present.
By the time we got his present it was already near lunch time. He wanted the KungFu Panda characters that are being given away with the Happy Meal at Mac and thus we headed to Mac again to get a Happy Meal set for his lunch. Sadly the Panda character will not be available till end of the month and he had to settle for the Praying Mantis instead. After that we went to fetch Ee and then home to have lunch and get Ee ready to go out.
After hubby's meeting in the morning ended at about 2pm, he came back to fetch us and off we go to Vivo City for the movie KungFu Panda. Hubby had booked 3 tickets for the 4pm show and the boys were very excited about the show. It was intended that hubby will bring the 2 boys to the show while I'll be walking/shopping around with Min as we were quite afraid that the sound effects from the show will be too loud for Min. At the last minute, we decided to take the risk and went in together (luckily Ee can get it without a ticket).
Thankfully Min behaved real well during the show and fell asleep halfway through the show and slept peacefully till the show ended. While he was sleeping, I had consciously covered up his ears just in case he got awaken by the sound effects. Ee also fell asleep halfway through the show and only woke up almost 15minutes to the end of the show and went to the toilet once. Hao enjoyed the movie the most and I could hear his laughter throughout the entire show! Overall, we are quite happy that the show was really funny and interesting enough for the kids and ourselves as it's been a long time since we stepped into the movie theatre, especially with the kids :)
After the show, we proceeded to Sakae Sushi at Harbourfront for dinner, and the kids behaved really well for the dinner, including Min who really sat still throughout the entire dinner time and we all were able to relax and enjoy dinner.
After dinner, we dropped by in laws place and helped with some preparation for the dumpling wrapping tomorrow and then headed home to rest for the day.
The day passed so quickly and we really had a great family outing. I sat and thought about the day when Hao was born, and his growing pains for the past 6 years, and realise the kids are growing up too fast and too soon. Gone were the days when they started teething, eating, crawling, walking and their first day in school, first friends they mentioned, even the pains of potty training them and then now, in a blink of my eye, he's already 6! He'll be Primary 1 next year and starting to venture out into the society as a young boy, not as my little baby anymore. I now understand why we are always looked upon as kids to our own parents, as we are behaving the same, hoping and believing that our kids will always be our babies....

Happy Birthday to Hao!
